Francisco Lindor Will Be Just Fine In 2027

I’ll grant you that Lindor was suffering from injuries with the calf, and hamate. But 32 is generally regarded as the last of a players prime years. Lindor’s defense has been fading, but I do expect an improvement from last year, just because of the injuries.
I think if anyone was interested in taking him, it would mean another bad year for the Mets. I just don’t see them being able to trade him without picking up most of his contract off of last year, and at his age. He is still a very good player. He will still be a productive SS for years to come. If he does stay with the Mets for the duration, he will certainly be moved from SS. But I see the Mets continuing with the youth movement. I see them taking a proactive posture in signing the young players to what will be considered team friendly contracts, like the Braves did, to buy out the pre arbitration, and arbitration years of certain players that thrive in the NY market. But what happens with Lindor, and any of the high income, aging, or oft injured players is going to greatly depend on the new CBA, and its restrictions.
