Brewers Offensive Onslaught Was a Total Team Effort

In today's power-centric game, it's not often a team scores 10 runs without hitting the ball out of the ballpark, but the Brewers piled up 16 hits in Game 3 and got contributions from up and down their lineup.

Jake Bauers was the only starter not to record a hit or an RBI, and he even finished with a walk and a run scored.

They went 9-for-18 with runners in scoring position, five different players had multi-hit games, and their lack of over-the-fence power has been a complete non-factor the entire postseason.

Rays Will Need to Make History

Teams are 0-24 all-time when falling behind 3-0 in the World Series, and a staggering 21 of those series have ended in a four-game sweep.

The last team to push things to Game 5 was the 1970 Cincinnati Reds, and that was as far as they made it.

The 2004 Boston Red Sox are the go-to example of a team coming back from down 3-0 in a best-of-seven series, completing that comeback against the rival Yankees in the ALCS. The 2020 Houston Astros are the only other team to force Game 7 after facing that deficit, and they ultimately lost in the ALCS clincher to the very same Rays team now staring down those long odds.

Brewers Have All Their Key Arms Rested

As if digging out of a 3-0 hole wasn't a daunting enough task for the Rays, the Brewers will enter Game 4 with Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill and JoJo Romero all sitting on multiple days of rest.

It will likely be a bullpen game, with Dustin May and Shane Drohan the leading candidates for bulk work, but they will have all their top weapons available in support of those guys.
