They sold 1,000 tickets, and the best number I’ve found is that roughly 500 people are trying to redeem them for this series.
I get the whole availability argument, but these people collectively gave the Brewers $1 million a decade ago. You’re telling me they can’t find 500 decent seats spread across multiple games?
It’s crazy that this has become such a controversy. They could have easily turned this into a fantastic PR opportunity, celebrating fans who supported the team a decade ago. Instead, they’ve managed to turn something really cool into a headache.

Could just do 250 seats a game for two games. This sounds like an easy fix. Yes they can’t sell tickets behind home for $2.5k a pop but if that was their concern then they shouldn’t have done this promotion in the first place knowing full well that people would wait for a game like this

The original terms said you could purchase an additional 3 seats at face value. So it's not just 1000 tickets but potentially 4000. The language in the original offer also explicitly said best available tickets and that they were even valid for game 7 of the world series. They should have held back enough tickets before the general public sale to accommodate this and are now facing backlash as a result.

Yeah from the accounts I read, it really just seems like it’s that “best available” is where the hang up and disconnect is.

Definitely, best available should mean the best seats outside of season ticket holder seats that have been purchased and seats purchased by corporate sponsors. Essentially they should have had first option to purchase before the general public sale.

The issue is that they were supposed to have right of first refusal after season ticket holders.
Instead the Brewers forgot and sold out the stadium.
They've done this before, people used their timeless tickets on World Series tickets in 2018 when we went to game 7 with the World Series. It wasn't an issue.
The Brewers messed it up this time around.

You didnt make the 2018 world series though.

Phew. This makes sense for a brain fart. Rather than my presumption of just an AI bot and hallucination

Wait wtf are you on about 2018 World Series?

From another post I read, they honored the spirit of the Timeless Tickets and sold seats that were the best available to the holders for World Series games that year. Of course, they didn't make it, so the holders were issued refunds and got to keep their Timelines Tickets. Thus, this proves how badly the Brewers screwed up this year.

Kind of. In 2018, they staged this when the Brewers were in the NLCS and they let the one time ticket holders pick from any available seats. They didn’t make the World Series so it ended up being moot but they had a process they fans were expecting to play out based on what happened in 2018. The Brewers did not follow that same process at all, only allocating tickets AFTER the presale had completed, leaving little available tickets for the one time ticket holders.

Yeah, the logical expectation with a promotion like this is that people are buying it as a dream that one day they'll be able to redeem it for World Series tickets.
Surely that has to be a little footnote in your mind as an organization when your team actually makes it to the World Series.

Not an excuse but I’d be extremely surprised if anyone from the marketing team is still there who was part of this promotion ten years ago.
16. u/minuteye · 2026-10-21 19:11 UTC
It's less about a marketing team remembering a stunt that was run before they joined the organization, and more about an organization continuing to track the fact that they have an ongoing debt owed to a substantial number of people.
Like, you can't just turn around and tell the waste management company you hired "Oh sorry, we don't have the money to pay you, nobody on the team was working here when we signed the contract with you."

There are people saying that they have in fact redeemed them for good world series tickets in the past.....but when the Brewers didn't make it, they were refunded.
So they know.

They could have sent an email out the day before ticket sales began,
Dear timeless ticket holder, if you'd like to use your ticket for any game in this series please respond back within 2 business days. Otherwise we will not be able to honor your timeless ticket for the world series and you will have to use it another time.

Mos def. Sounds like horrible planning and a huge headache.

Lol did the front office think they were never going to make it to a WS?
