Congrats to Duran winning a Gold Glove as a DH!

It’s for utility player. He played every infield / outfield position this year. “His 11 outs above average at shortstop were 4th-most in the A.L. despite making just 49 starts at the position.”
third base (57 games),
shortstop (53 games),
second base (37 games),
leftfield (21 games),
centerfield (18 games),
rightfield (14 games),
and first base (3 games)

As a Boston fan, can't complain here! Wilyer and Ceddanne are so dominant.

At least once a game my jaw would be on the floor from a diving catch Cedanne made

I feel like even more so last year. Wilyer's bullets to home were just absolutely insane too.

I still go back and watch the replay of Abreu robbing that home run by knocking if back into the field and into Rafaelas glove 😂

How did Kwan not win a 5th?

I can't help but wonder if it's because he was split between center and left field, so didn't have high enough stats in either position

Yeah he played 626.2 innings in LF and 637 in CF. Too much split time did him in unfortunately

Cleveland’s coach is a jackass.

BWJ robbed

Big time. They just gave it to Walls because his team made the WS. BWJ was clearly the best defensive SS in the league to anyone who has eyes
14. u/Numba1BS · 2026-11-02 03:19 UTC
Well Witt played about 200 more innings and had 13 less defensive runs saved, so maybe get your eyes checked…

And if you wanna talk stats, Taylor Walls was negative in both FRV and OOA…while Bobby was top tier in both.

I can tell you didn’t actually watch games and just looked at the stat sheet
17. u/Arxny · 2026-11-02 03:48 UTC
Most look at a stat sheet and if you want to dig into it further his success rate is lower and errors are more frequent than his contemporaries if you want to dig.
Given that context it still doesn't over ride that his range and defensive prowess in general is still an entire leg up on everyone at the position and creates more opportunities with his range than anyone.
If there was a 2nd consideration to stave off BWJ fatigue (which doesn't exist) I would say Jacob Wilson with his errorless streak would also be a great choice over Walls.

Not gonna argue who deserved it as I have no dog in this fight, but pretty sure votes are submitted before postseason games start. So maybe the Rays making the playoffs had an effect but not the WS
