According to a Friday report from Front Office Sports, the World Series — which saw the Brewers win their first-ever championship in five games — had an average audience of 11.83 million viewers. As noted by FOS, that figure was nearly a 25% drop from the averages from the 2025 and 2024 World Series

Should have televised more sausage races

I was disappointed to tune in for the sausage race and instead had to watch baseball.

Smaller-market clubs, short series, no super villain. Makes sense.

Mainly because the Brewers steamrolled the whole league. I’ll take it.

Meh, don’t care. It was good ball.

When all of Canada was watching last year, not surprising. .

Canada wasn't even counted in the viewership numbers last year iirc
Similar to how Japan doesn't get counted either

But a lot of Canadiens are in the US at any given time, so Canadian viewership is still making a big dent im sure

I think that's a slight bit of cope. We can call a spade a spade and admit that it makes sense that two large markets would attract more viewiers than 2 small ones. LA's extended population is 3 times that of Milwaukee and Tampa combined

Previous 2 had the entire country of Japan and last one had Japan and Canada lol

Real and only answer right here.

This comparison is only from the US market.

I mean, Tampa Bay or Miami are the worst teams you can hope for in the World Series since they don't draw. I'd imagine most of those viewers were from Milwaukee or other places. Even if it went to a game 7, it wouldn't have drawn more than last year.

“Most of those viewers were from Milwaukee” the city of MILs total pop is under 600,000

it's probably fair to say that the entire state of Wisconsin was all-in right? Still not a huge number, but misleading to say that it stops with Milwaukee.

I wanted to watch OTA, but reception at my place is intermittent and I don't subscribe to any TV streaming packages, so I wound up having to sail the seas. Absolutely ridiculous that there isn't a "free" option to stream something that's OTA. I wonder how many others had similar experiences and if that would have made much difference in the numbers.

Considering Game 3 was a blow out that had to compete with MNF, I would imagine that one dragged down the average quite a bit.

I don’t care. I watched.

Smaller markets have fewer people?
