There was a not so small contingent of O’s fans that desperately wanted us to re-sign him. I and a few others were adamant at the time that his best days were likely behind him.

Yeah, there’s a reason he signed for well below what he was seeking. Dude hit 44 HRs in a walk year. A one tool player on the wrong side of 30. I was relieved we didn’t resign him and couldn’t understand why fans were so heartbroken to see him go.

Time has proven you guys correct, I think I can count on one hand the number of games he's played for us since we signed him. And the number of games where he's been productive is round.

One of my favorite things about baseball is the overreactions from Blue Jays media and podcasts when they sign anybody. This guy was talked about like he was fucking Willie Mays when they signed him.
