[Brisbee] From Biberty to living under home plate: The worst commercials of the MLB postseason

🎶Ohhhhh🎶
🎶 Gambling, insurance, prescription meds, prediction markets, sandwiches and credit cards 🎶
🎶Ohhhhh🎶
Then the Sydney Sweeney commercial comes on, and the chorus kicks in. B… b… b… b… booooooo! Boooooo to these ads, Madison Avenue! Boo to these ads! There is a sickness about them, a malaise that infects us all.
Goodness, do I hate some of these commercials. And if I don’t get some of this off my chest, it’ll have to come out in therapy later, and those co-pays stack up. So here are my five least favorite commercials of the 2026 MLB postseason so far.
First, though, some honorable mentions.
To the folks at Nereus: You are a drug that helps with motion sickness, calm down. We do not need a set of sprawling animated adventures to explain the benefits. You do not need to show Poseidon zapping the reverse diarrhea out of a guy, for example. I do not believe he would do that for me. He is much likelier to help a cuttlefish, which is more of his primary concern.
To the folks at Echo Tools: You tried to “create a guy,” but you accidentally gave us a theater kid doing a “Parks & Rec” pastiche for a class project. He got a C. Please try harder. Nobody believes that person cares about a battery-powered leaf blower. It’s a battery-powered leaf blower. Leaf blowers already suck on every level, from concept to execution, and they don’t excite anybody.
To the folks at Capital One: You are trying to introduce Capital One Guy’s parents to us. This is a big assumption, and quite frankly, America isn’t ready for it. We aren’t there yet. Nobody actually knows who this person is or what he says. You can’t start building out the Capital One Cinematic Universe yet because you haven’t earned it. I thought it was Aaron Rodgers because of how little I paid attention. Give the actor bagpipes or something. Make him a detective. Respect our time.
Now to the worst offenders.

Megan Fox’s boner pill ads should be an honorable mention

Her entire delivery is so phoned in and the total opposite of "sexy".

And she looks like she was run through an AI filter to make her look like a Kardashian

Limu Emu and Biberty both need to be fired into the sun. The worst marketing I’ve ever seen.

Four mascots for one company is too fucking much. Even Progressive is a little guilty though they're more of a team.
Dude with glasses, the emu, the dumbass, and the wannabe annoying orange. Nah. It's just dumb.

The dog park commercial makes me question who actually approves these ads and who's getting paid to make them. Kill me

I get that song stuck in my head at least once a week. 🎶At the dog park🎶🤘🤘🤘

Not surprised! I think those types of commercials are made to target the average LA fan

Gotem!

Whoever created these two commercials and the corporate dolts who thought they were a good idea should never be associated with advertising again. They’re selling to 8 year olds?

I would never even consider them for insurance

You leave the emu out of this!

I watch with the sound off and listen to the Brewer’s radio cast. I can say with 100% confidence what the ABSOLUTE BEST World Series ads are:
One of the sponsors is a company called North Shore Adult Diapers and they sponsor - no joke - the Ray’s pitching changes. “Struggling with control issues? Make the change with North Shore Adult Diapers” “Have to get out of a mess? Make the call to North Shore Adult Diapers.”
I’m sure that’s a season long sponsor (I’m not a regular brewers guy), but it fucking rules to have that as an ad during the World Series.

Do we know if Uecker ever did any of those? Or are they too new?
18. u/Frequilibrium · 2026-10-25 16:23 UTC
The meta ai one was infuriating. Literally saying how much they care about the people while advertising a program that will steal jobs and work from people.

And using the David Bowie song Five Years, about people losing their minds due to finding out the apocalypse is coming. The lack of awareness is astounding.

I’ll do you one better: in PA we now have one trying to convince us that data centers do not consume drinking water like the internet says they do and how they’re great for jobs and the economy and the environment.
